On 19 October 2021, Dr Jarosław Protasiewicz, Head of the National Information Processing Institute (OPI PIB) and Prof Jacek Semaniak, President of the Central Office of Measures (GUM) signed a collaboration agreement to conduct research, implement R&D projects that rely on artificial intelligence, and transfer know-how.
The agreement was signed at the 29th Fair of Industrial Measuring Technology CONTROL-STOM in Kielce.
‘We are focusing on the use of artificial intelligence in two areas: metrology and medicine,‘ said Dr Protasiewicz.
Prof Semaniak stated that the agreement would enhance the effective development of metrology (the science of measurement)—an area that has for too long been an afterthought in the scientific community.
The long-term collaboration between OPI PIB and GUM will be based on the transfer of expertise and modern technologies.
