People first

By adopting user-centred design, OPI develops and examines technological solutions that cater to users’ needs and preferences. While technology is integral to that work, our ultimate priority is people.

What we do

We explore users’ experiences to better understand their motivations, habits, emotions and attitudes. By conducting surveys, we identify areas for future research and product development. We verify the effectiveness of our concepts.

In this way, we deliver engaging and effective technology solutions.

Who we are

We are an interdisciplinary team of experts that specialises in:

  • psychology
  • sociology
  • neuropsychology
  • data analysis
  • machine learning
  • programming
  • IT system usability
  • virtual reality

What we work on

  • We participate in major research programmes in Poland and internationally. Through our engagement in such projects, we have proved our effectiveness in collaborating with global partners and the importance of our role in the development of human-computer interaction.
  • We conduct IT system usability testing. The products and solutions we promote are engineered to be technically robust and to meet users’ expectations.

We apply the following technologies

dr hab. Cezary Biele
associate professor at OPI PIB,
Head of the Laboratory of Interactive Technologies

I am the Head of the Laboratory of Interactive Technologies at OPI. My team and I conduct AI and smart-home technology research, and undertake projects that focus on human behaviour in virtual reality, children’s online safety, digital parenthood and the effectiveness of persuasive 3D messages.

Although I have degrees in psychology, psychophysiology and biology, my true passion is sociology. My interests lie in the role of emotions in human-technology interaction and the impact of new technologies on societies. I have extensive experience in basic research and in commercial marketing research.
